This Divine Romance

Yesterday evening, I just happened to look out my window and notice a few pink slices of sky. So, I decided to walk outside and really take it all in. I don’t spend enough time paying attention to the beauty of the little details. I take for granted that the sun rises and sets each and every day. I rush from here to there, doing this or that, and I rarely take the time to really pay attention and give thanks for the beauty that surrounds me.

Last week, I was listening to the radio, and the announcer said she’s reminded of the Lord’s faithfulness each time she sees the sun rise or set. I never thought about it in that way, but it’s such a beautiful truth.

Then she played the song Divine Romance by Phil Wickham:

The fullness of Your grace is here with me
The richness of Your beauty’s all I see
The brightness of Your glory has arrived
In Your presence God, I’m completely satisfied

For You I sing I dance
Rejoice in this divine romance
Lift my heart and my hands
To show my love, to show my love

A deep deep flood, an Ocean flows from You
Of deep deep love, yeah it’s filling up the room
Your innocent blood, has washed my guilty life
In Your presence God I’m completely satisfied

This morning, the sky was amazing again, and I feel blessed that I get to enjoy it, that each morning and each evening I am surrounded by the beauty God has created.

And today, as the stresses and worries of everyday life creep in, all I have to do is take a deep breath and appreciate the beauty, feeling God’s presence and finding love and deep, pure peace and satisfaction.
