Farewell, 2012

Wow, 2012. It’s hard to believe I’m saying goodbye to you, as it feels like it was only yesterday that I made you this promise.

It’s certainly been a busy year, one full of creating and learning and growing — and lots of dreaming and hoping and adventuring.

I proclaimed my faith at my baptism.
I traveled. I had the opportunity to go to New York City for a work trip, and it came at just the right time. I needed to get away — escape to another city and see the sights. I took in all that fresh inspiration and came home excited, renewed, and ready to create.
I was inspired at Weapons of Mass Creation, and it was there — in the midst of a conversation with a sweet friend — that the idea for my eBook was born.
I celebrated my best friend’s love story at her wedding.
I found community through She Reads Truth and The Influence Network.
I was discipled and learned how to disciple through my women’s huddle at church.
I discovered new music I fell in love with like Of Monsters and Men, The Lumineers, Andrew Belle, and Katie Herzig.
I read great books like The Circle Maker, One Thousand gifts, Blog, Inc., and Steal Like an Artist.
I dated. I met a few great guys, and through those dating experiences, the Lord taught me a lot about relationships and communicating and grace.
I prayed boldly through my 40 days of prayer and learned even more about what the perseverance and patience of faith looks like.

motto

And through it all, I truly did try to do the things I promised —

…to keep an open heart each day.
…to live with courage, hope, and intention.
…to celebrate the goodness of life on even the most ordinary of days.
…to look for ways to grow and learn from every experience.
…and to keep thankfulness in my heart—always.

What have been the highlights of your year? I’d love to hear about your journey in 2012.
