I’m here because I want to write. It’s really that simple.Last night, I was reading The Sound of Paper by Julia Cameron, and this sentence jumped out at me:
“It is uncanny, the simple joy of living that comes from putting in some time on our art.”
My art has always been centered around words—journalism, poetry, fiction. And I do put in time daily: I work in publishing, I keep a handwritten journal and I read incessantly.
But I wanted another outlet, a place where I could share the simple bits of life that inspire me on a daily basis, a place where I could share a little bit about what I experience as a 20-something writer, trying to find her place in the world. And so, “A Place to Dwell” was born. It is my hope that this cozy corner of the Internet will be full of inspiration and possibility.
Welcome.
